Basic Engineering Draughting Training

In this basic course, students learn the fundamental skills and principles of technical drawing using established tools and techniques. They also learn the requisite disciplines of accuracy, neatness and precision that will later enable them to produce high quality drawings. With practice, students are able to produce working illustrations and drawings using standard drafting media, and computer aided design (CAD) software.

The requirement to qualify for this course is completion of a high school program with a minimum of C- in Math or Physics and with an expressed interest in engineering, architecture or related fields. If you do not meet the above grade requirements, you can enroll for bridging courses in Math and Physics at our Learning Centre.

By the end of this course the trainee should be able to:

  • Understand the Principles of engineering drawing
  • Interpret working drawings
  • Communicate using working drawings
  • Extract and compile specific data from records such as specifications and drawings
  • Offer technical assistance in any drawing office

The course is designed to take 14 weeks on part-time basis.

We allow a maximum of 3 hours a day for each class.
